RITES OF INNOCENCE
2017
Created and performed specifically for the RITE festival, Rites Of Innocence is a comedic and unnerving clash of old pagan myth exploring modern day views on femininity and society's views on women.
Audience were welcome by the 'old crone' who performed a traditional ritual with a wishing stone and a bucket, whilst teaching audiences how to make an ancient wool doll.
Half way through the evening in line with pagan myth, the old crone transformed into 'Bianca' - the youthful, fertile and naive.
Bianca ran a muck reminding people about the pleasures of childhood, playing with Barbie dolls, colouring in and challenging stereotypes associated with the little girls & little boys.
