Forming part of the Kinder Scout series of artworks, this scene sits north, on the western edge of the roughly four mile plateau of moorland. The view faces north east back into Kinder Scout and taking in the majesty of the tallest waterfall in the Peak District. Sometimes referred to as the reverse waterfall because the wind often picks up the cascading water and blows it back on itself, creating a vapour cloud that can be seen from miles around.
 
On 24th April, 1932, hundreds of people defied the law to walk over hills and moorland to the plateau of Kinder Scout, in a mass trespass to secure access rights to open country for all.
