Jacob's Ladder is a landmark on the Pennine Way consisting of a set of stone steps cut into the hillside, ascending onto the Kinder plateau. Thought to have been named after a local farmer, Jacob Marshall, who farmed the land at Edale Head in the 18th Century.

This scene depicts a view from Jacob's Ladder, this bridleway stetches between Kinder Scout plateau and the hamlet of Upper Booth in the Vale of Edale, in the Derbyshire Peak District of England.
