About Barbara
Barbara is an immersive theatrical experience that sensitively explores the subject of dementia through the lens of how we care for those we love and how we care for ourselves.
Barbara and Bernard will transport their guests to a bygone era with music, polite conversation and exceptional hosting. Through warmth, affection and humour, the lid is lifted on what it means to care for someone you love when they lose their way.
Created by lead artist Mark Croasdale, Barbara began life as a scratch performance for TurnOnFest at Hope Mill Theatre in 2020, it received an R&D grant in 2023 in partnership with The Edge and University of Salford Dementia Institute.
